This is a wonderfully intimate dining experience. You walk in and see the chef/owner cooking to your left. You can watch him from your table or eat in the adjacent dining room. Our waitress and sommelier was delightful and helped steer us to the wine and food we would enjoy. My wife and I both had the entrcote with a light white wine and shallot sauce, something that I would never have expected. That and the accompanying fries needed only a simple arugula salad. For dessert, my wife loved her upside down chocolate fondant, but the pear mousse with amerena cherries could possibly be the best dessert I’ve ever had. It practically floated out of the dish. Everything about this restaurant was wonderful.
I come to Paris twice a year for a couple of nights with work. I come to La Cardonnerie both nights! It’s the highlight of my trip. It’s a second generation family restaurant - you can watch Chef Hugo at work. I love the food and ambience. It’s a simple but classic and delicious French Menu. My only hesitation in recommending is that it gets too popular and I won’t be able to get a table!
This place is magnificent. Homemade French cuisine. The bread outstanding, the fish outstanding, my hubby had the veal, he said it was delicious. Perfection in Paris. Very intimate and romantic restaurant. 5 stars all the way. Merci and Au Revoir from Houston, Texas USA.
We enjoyed an authentic French dining experience, superior service, and exceptional dishes. The space is small and cozy, which meant we saw the chef and enjoyed a quiet meal.
Cuisine française classique et parfaitement réalisée des entrées aux desserts. Deux petites salles donc un vrai sentiment d’intimité. Un service très chaleureux. Bref la recette d’une très bonne soirée (entre amis en l’occurence)
